Digital Strategy

Social Media

I manage various GSA Twitter accounts, including @GSA_TTS, @PIFgov and @18F. I control the main Twitter account for TTS, as well as accounts for 18F (the digital services portfolio) and Presidential Innovation Fellows (PIF). @GSA_TTS has over 700 followers, @18F has over 32,000 followers, and @PIFgov (PIF) has almost 5,000 followers. These followers include members of the public, members of congress, government agency partners, and internal employees. It’s been a great experience learning how to craft messages that resonate with the various audience members.

Additionally, I manage the LinkedIn pages for TTS, 18F and the White House Presidential Innovation Fellows.

Using Airtable, I am able to draft content, create editorial calendars and share finalized drafts with my supervisors. For Twitter, I utilize TweetDeck to schedule tweets that are posted on different GSA accounts. For LinkedIn, I am considered an "account manager" and I have access to post directly onto our pages.

Content Marketing

Internal Newsletters

Each month, I rely on Slack to help me find content. Slack is a cloud-based messaging system that is used within GSA to connect all members to the agency together. I am able to stay updated on relevant topics and events. After reviewing the latest happenings, I collect information for a first draft of the newsletter.

I track press and media mentions in our office, I gather blog posts and I write about various events and project highlights. Additionally, I interview members of our office's leadership team for special features within the newsletter. The newsletters are sent to the entire office by the end of the month.

Annual Report

2019 TTS Achievements

I had the opportunity to work alongside my director and the TTS Outreach team by assisting in the production and publication of the first annual report for TTS Outreach. This project took over four months, and it began after my director and I talked over the idea of showcasing the various achievements that have occurred within TTS during the 2019 fiscal year.

Within TTS, there are several business units, or “portfolios”, as they are referred to within the agency. TTS is the overall office, and the subunits include The White House Presidential Innovation Fellows, 18F, IT Modernization Centers of Excellence, and TTS Solutions. Within Solutions, there are even smaller units, such as Search.gov, DigitalGov, 10X, FedRAMP (Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program), Public Experience, and Code.gov.

While working on the annual report, I was able to do a complete research analysis for each of the units. This helped me learn about the portfolios on an in-depth level. After networking with the units’ leadership teams, conducting online research through the agency’s social media pages and blog postings, and reviewing press mentions, I worked alongside the TTS Outreach team to create a 130+ page report for each business unit.
